Incorporates CHI Health’s mission, vision and values in all aspects of daily work.
Functions within the scope of practice of a Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) as defined within state regulations.
Performs/directs patient care services including, but not limited to, admission interview, assessment, accurate documentation and maintain timely patient flow.
Provides patient care and performs patient care procedures, including wound cleansing and dressing, immobilization, and re-assessment of patient condition and status. AEMT may medical administration under medical direction and IV insertions.
Provides any and all BLS interventions including but not limited to oral-tracheal intubation and automatic cardiac defibrillation.
Performs role of EMT or AEMT during Trauma Alerts.
Consults as needed with Ambulance Team Lead, Nurses and Clinic Providers regarding patient condition and treatment.
Screens patient care to ensure priority is provided to patients in an emergency situation.
Ensures patient is appropriately prepared for care encounter. Prepares/obtains patient medical records and other information/documentation pertinent to patient encounter.

Minimum 6 months experience in pre-hospital setting is preferred.
Previous hospital experience as a nurse extender within past 48 months helpful
Education and/or Licensure-Certification:
Required:
Must be at least 21 years of age. Must posses a current EMT, EMTI, or EMTP certification. Must possess a current Type D (Chauffeur) Drivers License or a Nebraska type O Drivers License and provide a copy.
BLS certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must say “Professional Level-with AED”, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
