Qualifications

Minimum
Education: • Bachelors of Science degree; Preferred emphasis in Emergency Management,
Public Policy, Engineering, or  Business field. • A certification in one of
the following areas:Certified Biological Safety Professional (CBSP) by the
American Biological Safety Association (ABSA), Certified Safety Professional
(CSP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), Certified Fire
Protection Specialist (CFPS) by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA);
Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP) by the International Board
for Certification of Safety Managers; Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) by the
International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM).

Minimum years in field
previous to employment: • Seven (7) continuous years of leadership experience.• Ten (10) years of
experience in Emergency Management or similar role, 5 years in healthcare
environment 

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities• Must have demonstrated knowledge and/or skills in the following
areas:• Experience with management policies and procedures development and
compliance• Knowledge of Emergency Management testing/
implementation• Proven organizational skills and time
management• Knowledge of Emergency Preparedness compliance principles and
practices. • Knowledge of principles and practices applicable to analysis
and evaluation related to Emergency preparedness • Knowledge and experience
in business continuity planning and implementation• Skill in Hazard
Vulnerability assessment, survey techniques necessary to assess
hazards.• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with all
levels of the organization.• Problem-Solving ability. Complex problem
solving using analysis, technical and organizational expertise, in order to
develop creative and innovative solutions• Knowledge of industry standard
practices in Emergency Management• Identifies opportunities to increase
efficiency.

 

Position
Responsibilities 1. Oversight for all aspects of the Emergency Management Program including the
development, implementation, testing and maintenance of Hospital Emergency
Operation Plans throughout the division.  2. Analyze future business
requirements of emergency preparedness to assist in defining and implementing
long-term strategic business plans that promote a safe work environment and that
are effective, efficient, and bring financial value to the
organization3. Ensure that hospitals, market and the division entities
conduct functional exercises to meet the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare,
Hospital Preparedness Program and FEMA requirements, as well as managing the
After Action Review/Improvement Plan process.4. Support Divisional and
market implementation and on-going education of the Hospital Incident Command
System (HICS). 5. Manage divisional emergency communication plans, both
internally and externally.6. Oversee and perform information gathering and
hazard vulnerability analysis at all applicable sites.7. Manage Alert and
Notification Program, to include training, rollout and maintenance for the
division.8. Provide assistance/guidance to a facility/organization during an
emergency.9. Develop and maintain a Divisional Emergency Management
Program.10. Report at routine EOC meetings, and as required to executive
