Job Description Job Summary: Provides basic and advanced life support treatment, care and evaluation of patients on scene and during transport. Responsibilities: Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility transport under the direction and in collaboration with the transport physician and\/or Registered Nurse (RN). Initiates and implements interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition and treatment, as appropriate. Provides population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions. Inspects, maintains and cares for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public. Qualifications Licenses\/Certifications\/Registration: Required Credential(s): Certified\u00a0BLS Provider\u00a0obtained within\u00a06 Months (180 days)\u00a0of hire date or job transfer date. Drivers License\u00a0obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Certified\u00a0Emergency Medical Tech\u00a0specializing in\u00a0Paramedic\u00a0obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Preferred Credential(s): Certification\u00a0specializing in\u00a0Advanced Cardio Life Support. Certified\u00a0Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Education: HS or Equivalent\u00a0Minimum Qualification: High School Diploma or equivalent by hire date to position Work Experience: Minimum Qualification: No experience. Preferred Qualification: One year of experience working in an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) role.

The first Catholic hospital in Baltimore, St. Agnes was originally created to provide nursing care for the poor. The facility moved to its present location in 1876 and was reorganized as a full-service hospital in 1906.
