Job Description Job Summary: The Unit Secretary performs administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area. Responsibilities: Greets patients and visitors, answers/screens/routes telephone calls, files, distributes mail and performs other general clerical duties. Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about patient care according to protocol. Schedules patients for individual appointment and in a timely manner. Provides assistance with programs/software for Physicians/Clinicians through the order entry processes, transfers and discharges. Assembles and maintains patient charts. Coordinates meetings/schedules meetings/rooms with the appropriate person, sends notices as requested. Maintains meeting minutes. Enters and maintains timekeeping changes and staff schedules in computer systems. Qualifications Licenses/Certifications/Registration: Required Credential(s): BLS Provideru00a0credentialed from theu00a0American Heart Association (AHA)u00a0obtained withinu00a01 Month (30 days)u00a0of hire date or job transfer date.u00a0 Education: Diplomau00a0High School Education or equivalent requiredAssociate's degree or Technical degree in a related field, or combination of High School degree and related experience preferred Work Experience: 2 Years Preferred Technical Experience.
