The fire protection engineer has project management responsibilities including: client relationship maintenance, project team management, project safety, and client deliverables.u00a0 The experienced fire protection engineer should be able to tackle complex assignments; build a client base; lead project teams; and manage and deliver client work. The person in this role should be active in industry organizations; be willing to mentor junior staff; and, participate in office and company development initiatives.u00a0 Our Fire Protection practice is seeking engineers with experience in any of the following fire hazards analysis specialties: Life safety evaluations building and fire code analysis; fire loss mitigation through proper design, construction, arrangement, and protection of buildings; materials, assemblies and systems selection; industrial processes review; fire detection, notification, suppression, and communication systems design; due diligence surveys; and post-loss investigation and analysis. Requirements Degreed in a related field with seven to fifteen years of relevant experience and expertise in fire protection and/or code consulting Professionally Fire licensed Strong regional experience and established clients An interest in solving problems with new and existing structures Experience managing projects Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and fire and egress modeling Ability to travel and work in the field Ability to travel outside local area, depending on local work load and project locations Actively participates in professional organizations, authors papers and presentations, attends conferences, and performs work on technical committees The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
