Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This post would be ideally suited to candidates considering application for sub-speciality training in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) as it will give them understanding of ambulance service structure and education together with opportunities for observer shifts.

This post would also suit candidates considering a career in with interest in medical education, as it will give experience in developing and delivering medical education to professional practitioners.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria Able to assess, resuscitate and stabilise acutely sick patients
Able to participate as key member of cardiac arrest team
Demonstrates good clinical judgement
Completed specialist skills courses (e.g. difficult airways, ATLS/APLS, ultrasound course, etc....
Understands audit and governance processes
Desirable criteria Designed and / or completed audits

Essential criteria Ability to organise and prioritise workload
Good communication skills

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria Registered with General Medical Council (UK)
At least 24 months full-time hospital service as a trainee in the Foundation (or higher) grade. No unexplained career gaps
Advanced Life Support provider
Previous experience of working in critical care in the British Healthcare system (not observing)
Specialist Interest intent and evidence of interest
Desirable criteria Intermediate EM/ MRCP/MRCS (Part 1) or equivalent
Other membership, fellowship or diplomas
