We are seeking a Paramedic Educator - The Paramedic Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Educator is responsible for promoting the delivery of appropriate and timely emergency care to children and families by facilitating pediatric educational opportunities for pre-hospital care providers, promoting collaborative relationships between EMS providers and Nationwide Childrens Hospital. The EMS Educator may provide direct care to selected patients as a role model, resource or mentor for other health care providers.

What Will You Be Doing?
Responsive to the needs of customers, and serves as a clinical resource for pre-hospital and Emergency Department personnel.
In collaboration with the EMS Coordinator, plans, develops, and implements educational programs for EMS providers, including but not limited to simulation technology, and acts as a resource for training institutions. Provides feedback and necessary education to EMS personnel as needed.
Educates the Emergency Department and hospital staff to the responsibilities, roles, and capabilities of EMS personnel and pre-hospital procedures. Promotes strategies for the integration of EMS personnel into the pediatric health care team.
Reviews selected pre-hospital EMS reports via Childrens Hospital and/or EMS Agency performance improvement pathway.
Identifies areas/issues appropriate for research study, and participates.
What Are We Looking For?
To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess these minimum qualifications and experience:
Certified Paramedic in the State of Ohio.
Minimum of five years emergency medical service experience.
State of Ohio EMS Instructor
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency pediatrics with expertise in resuscitation and stabilization of acutely ill and injured children, with prior pediatric clinical experience required.
Pediatric Advanced Live Support (PALS) provider verification required, instructor level desired.
Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers (PEPP) provider verification required, instructor level to be obtained within one year of hire.
Successful completion of the Special Childrens Outreach and Prehospital Education (SCOPE) course required instructor level to be obtained within one year of hire.
Successful completion of Basic Trauma Life Support or Pediatric Basic Trauma Life Support required within two years of hire.

Seeing Constantly (67-100%)
Ability lift up to 25 lbs. Constantly (67-100%)
Walking Constantly (67-100%)
