Supervises coding staff and trains employees to ensure that the MFA receives appropriate reimbursement and conforms to applicable guidelines and regulations. Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of the coding process. Knowledge in (ICD-10) and CPT-4 coding required. Follows policies of CMS, AMA and commercial carriers to assure consistent quality and adherence to coding principles and documentation requirements. Manages a MFA practice group’s coding and reimbursement activities. Knowledgeable in Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and all other participating third-party policies and procedures.
EducationAssociates or Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business administration or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is necessary. ExperienceAt least six years of both responsible health care fiscal experience and professional medical coding within a physician office is needed. At least 1 year of prior supervisory experience is needed.
