(SOSi) is seeking an Environmental Coordinator for a Base Operations Support (BOS) Services contract located throughout Bahrain.nnESSENTIAL JOB DUTIESnn- Ensure Contractor operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental Management System and other specified sustainability requirements affecting this contract in support of the Navy's missionnn- Develop, implement and monitor environmental strategies, policies and programs that promote sustainable developmentnn- Examines the contract activities to establish where improvements can be made and ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulationsnn- Ensure the Hazardous Waste, Hazardous Material Management Programs and Hazardous Waste shipments meet standards in accordance with established regulations and programsnn- Oversees the Hazardous Waste Accumulation Storage Area including Satellite Accumulation Storage Areasnn- Completes other assigned duties as requirednn- Meet regularly with Government Environmental officennMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSnn- Speaks, reads and comprehends Englishnn- Have a minimum two (2) years' experience with running environmental programs on a Military Installationnn- Working experience with Environmental Management System (EMS)nn- Working knowledge with EPA, DoD environmental regulations, including the OEBGDnn- Have knowledge of environmental regulations and federal energy laws and policy including energy and water reduction requirements and renewable energy requirementsnn- Ability to track, monitor, mediate and oversee the development of approaches and solutions to SSHO related issues including managing investigations of accidents and near-misses, summation of findings, and recommendations of strategies to prevent recurrencesnn- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and on a teamnn- Proven experience displaying ability to staff, organize, lead and manage a diverse work forcenn- Demonstrable proficiency in MS Office suite (or comparable), and project management platformsnn- Ability to pass basic physical and background checks sufficient for duty in a contingency/military environmentnnADDITIONAL INFORMATIONnnPREFERRED REQUIREMENTSnn- Bachelor's Degree in environmental related studies preferrednn- Military background and working knowledge of US Army Environmental and Safety and Health regulationsnn- 40-hour HAZWOPER certifiednn- Hazardous Material Spill Team Service ManagementnnWORK ENVIRONMENTnn- Working conditions are in an austere environmentnn- Position will require candidate to undergo medical screening and meet deploy-ability standardsnnDISCLAIMERnnThe above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
